In the face of U.S. tariffs and global economic uncertainty, our government is using every tool available to protect workers and businesses, and safeguard critical supply chains.
Now more than ever, Team Canada needs to deliver on our shared commitment to build the most competitive and resilient economy in the G7, so we can attract investment, create jobs, and protect workers and their families for decades to come
Ontario’s $30 billion tariff relief and support plan is designed to build long term resiliency and prosperity. This includes the $150 million Ontario Together Trade Fund, the $40 million Trade-Impacted Communities Program, the $1 billion Protect Ontario Financing Program and the Ontario Made Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit.
To unleash the full strength of the Canadian economy, Ontario is leading the country in breaking down barriers to interprovincial trade, unlocking more than $200 billion in untapped economic opportunity. Since April 2025, Ontario and 10 other jurisdictions have signed economic cooperation agreements to advance initiatives including pan-Canadian direct-to-consumer alcohol sales and greater labour mobility.
As Canada and the United States continue their negotiations, Ontario remains steadfast in advocating with federal and U.S. partners for our world-class workforce and key industries, while reinforcing the longstanding benefits of the deeply integrated Canada-U.S. economic relationship.
By securing the infrastructure, energy security, trade relationships and competitive business environment needed to withstand global economic shocks, our government is building an economy that will never again be over reliant on any single market lay a strong foundation for generations to come.
