Ontario Expanding Support for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Our government is committed to empowering the entrepreneurial spirit that drives economic growth and prosperity across Ontario. That is why we are proud to announce a significant investment of $2.4 million per year over the next two years to expand the highly successful Starter Company Plus program.

Starter Company Plus provides invaluable support, training, mentoring and financial grants of up to $5,000 to aspiring entrepreneurs aged 18 and older, equipping them with the tools and resources they need to realize their business dreams.

Over the past five years, this transformative program has trained and mentored over 5,500 entrepreneurs, creating more than 3,100 new businesses, expanding over 2,600 existing businesses, and generating over 6,300 new jobs across the diverse regions of our great province.

By investing in entrepreneurs, our government is ensuring that the innovative spirit and enterprising drive of Ontarians are harnessed to create economic opportunity, strengthen communities, and secure a brighter future for all.

To apply for the grant, you must be 18 or older, an Ontario resident and Canadian citizen/permanent resident, not attending school full-time, and able to contribute at least 25% of the grant amount. All applications must be done through a Small Business Enterprise Centre.
