Our government is investing $32.5 million to strengthen Ontario’s borders, giving police the tools they need to stop illegal guns, drugs and organized crime before they reach our communities.
Through Operation Deterrence, Ontario has already helped trace more than 550 illegal firearms and seize over 4,100 kilograms of cocaine and 190 kilograms of fentanyl, and we’re building on those results.
The new Border Security Grant will equip 24 municipal and First Nations police services with advanced technology like drones, thermal imaging, marine vessels and radar to detect and deter cross-border crime.
