Ontario Launches New Energy Efficiency Programs to Save You Money
Ontario’s electricity demand is forecasted to grow by 75 per cent by 2050, requiring bold and immediate action to both secure net-new electricity generation, and advance wide-spread conservation.
To help families save money and energy, our PC government is launching the largest investment in energy efficiency programs in Canadian history – $10.9 billion over the next 12 years.
The new Home Renovation Savings Program, launching January 28th, 2025, offers ‘one-stop’ access to rebates of up to 30 per cent for energy-efficient home renovations. This can be accessed at: saveonenergy.ca/homerenovationsavings
We will also support rooftop solar panels and battery storage, to encourage Ontarians to produce power for their own purposes, putting money into their pockets and power back into the grid.
Later in 2025, we will expand the list to include appliances and doors.
The government is also helping small businesses save money with new financial incentives for reducing their peak energy use.
These investments will save ratepayers $12.2 billion and cut peak electricity demand by 3,000 MW by 2036—the equivalent of taking three million homes off the grid.
While the Liberal Carbon Tax is driving up energy bills by 25 per cent, our government is putting more money back into families pocketbooks and expanding energy generation, without raising costs.
