Ontario Rewards Toronto with $114 Million for Exceeding 2023 Housing Targets

Our government is committed to doing what it takes to build more homes than ever before and rewarding municipalities that show progress getting shovels in the ground.

We know that to support the growth we are seeing across our province, municipalities need infrastructure in place to service that growth.

That is why Ontario is providing Toronto with $114 million in funding through the Building Faster Fund after the city exceeded its 2023 housing target.

To reach our shared goal of building at least 1.5 million homes by 2031, we need all levels of government to step up. We must continue to work together and build on our progress to make homeownership a reality for everyone.

To support our municipal partners, our government has introduced significant investments to support housing-enabling infrastructure, including the $1.2 billion Building Faster Fund, the $200 million Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund and the $400 million Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund.
