Ontario Supporting Seniors and Their Caregivers
Our government is working for Ontario’s seniors by making targeted investments of $114 million to improve the lives of Ontario’s seniors, no matter where they call home.
This bill will build on the work our government is doing to support residents living with dementia by connecting them with modern treatment techniques and medications, as well as strengthening the Residents’ Bill of Rights to foster stronger connections among family and friends, while piloting a new system to grant community access to certain long-term care supports.
Finally, this bill will protect seniors by enhancing safeguards for personal information and strengthening Long-Term Care investigation authority to ensure homes comply with Ontario’s highest standards of care and protect our frontline staff.
These changes are one more way the province is taking action to meet the needs of Ontario’s aging population and better support the people who care for seniors by improving and expanding supports for seniors living in long-term care, congregate settings and in the community.
