Ontario Training Veterans for In-Demand Careers

Ontario’s brave men and women in the Canadian Armed Forces put their lives on hold to protect our freedom.

They deserve the peace of mind that once they leave the Armed Forces they will be able to transition into rewarding new careers.

That is why our government is investing $4.3 million in four projects to provide training opportunities to 356 members of the Canadian Armed Forces as they transition to civilian life.

These projects will help veterans find rewarding careers in industries like healthcare, the skilled trades, software development and cyber security.

Programs will include resources like technical training, bootcamps, mentorship, apprenticeship referrals, and counselling.

This investment builds on the changes our government announced last spring to make job-protected leave for military reservists the most flexible and comprehensive in all of Canada.

Through the first three funding rounds, our Skills Development Fund Training Stream has supported 597 projects, aiming to help half a million people around the province take the next step in their careers.
