Our plan to build the Northern Shield Energy Corridor is a plan to protect workers in Ontario, Alberta and every part of the country.
This nation-building project will move Western oil and gas to southern Ontario along a proposed 3,300-kilometre route from Hardisty, Alberta, to new and expanded refineries in Sarnia, Ontario.
Built exclusively through Canada using Canadian steel, the proposed route would reduce Canada’s reliance on U.S. markets and infrastructure while strengthening our national security and supporting Canadian manufacturing, jobs and domestic supply chains.
By connecting Alberta’s energy with Canadian refineries and markets, we can create jobs, grow our economy and make better use of the world-class resources we already have.
Under the leadership of Premier Ford, Ontario is working with provincial partners to build a more secure and self-reliant Canada that keeps workers on the job and costs down for families.
