Our government is giving police the modern tools they need to stay ahead of criminals, with the first helicopter now deployed through Ontario’s Joint Air Support Unit in Peel Region.
Backed by a $191 million investment, Ontario’s Joint Air Support Unit is delivering seven police helicopters to help crack down on auto theft, organized crime, dangerous driving and violent crime.
This new helicopter will help Peel Regional Police respond faster, track stolen vehicles, coordinate major incidents and better protect families and communities.
Criminals are becoming more sophisticated, and our government is ensuring law enforcement has the technology and resources needed to keep Ontario’s streets and highways safe.
The deployment of the first Joint Air Support Unit helicopter is another example of our government’s plan to protect Ontario by investing in front-line policing and giving officers every advantage to keep communities safe.
