Protecting Ontario’s Economy by Creating Good-Paying Local Jobs

In the face of global economic uncertainty driven by President Trump’s tariffs, our government is laser-focused on building the most resilient, self-reliant, and competitive economy in the G7. By cutting taxes and red tape, we’re protecting Ontario jobs, workers and families, building on the $235 billion in investments we’ve attracted to the province since 2018.

As Ontario responds to U.S. tariffs, our government is cutting taxes and red tape, saving businesses and families $12 billion a year.

By creating these conditions for growth, since 2018, Ontario has attracted more than $235 billion in new investments across the province from companies looking to expand, creating one million new good-paying jobs.

Last year alone (2025), 750 companies invested $35 billion, directly creating 64,000 new jobs across key sectors like advanced manufacturing, tech, life sciences and agri-food.

Our government will continue to invest in innovative projects that create good-paying jobs, supporting businesses and workers impacted by tariffs in every corner of our province.

We will do whatever it takes to protect Ontario workers and families.
