Our government is ready to protect Ontario’s businesses and workers from President Trump’s new tariffs and bans by expand eligibility for the Protect Ontario Financing Program and the Ontario Together Trade Fund.
Eligibility for tariff-impacted businesses under both programs will be expanded as U.S. trade actions against Canadian products take effect on September 15th and 29th.
Through Ontario’s nearly $30 billion tariff relief and support plan, we are using every tool available to help businesses withstand ongoing pressures and protect jobs.
At the same time, we are working to strengthen our economy and make it more resilient, including building the road to the Ring of Fire to unlock our critical minerals, continuing to advance new nuclear projects, and breaking down internal trade barriers so Ontario businesses can increase sales of their products across Canada.
We will not hesitate to use every tool we have to protect workers, businesses and communities from tariffs.
