Ontario’s first responders put themselves in challenging and often dangerous situations every day to protect our communities, and our government is committed to ensuring they have the tools, training and supports they need to stay safe while keeping others safe.
We are investing more than $50 million through the Fire Protection Grant to help municipal fire services expand cancer prevention initiatives and invest in life saving gear.
Being a first responder often carries a unique mental toll, that’s why we are investing $32.5 million through the Mental Health Supports for Public Safety Personnel Program to provide first responders and public safety personnel with free access to specialized mental health resources when and where they are needed.
Whether responding to a fire, medical emergency or threat to public safety, Ontario’s first responders are there when we need them most, and our government will continue making the investments necessary to support those who dedicate their careers to protecting others.
